Some reminders for members...

 

SOME REMINDERS FOR MEMBERS

 

Membership fees (£30) for the year must be paid by the end of January

Poems for the March Downlander must be submitted to the editor by December 30th.

Poems for the September Downlander must be submitted to the editor by June 30th.

Poems for the EB-J. Memorial Cup Competition must be submitted by June 30th.

 

The editor of The Downlander is happy to accept your submissions at any time, by email, post or at meetings; but please don’t submit the same poem for a Downlander that you intend to submit for the EB-J. The Competition is open to all members and there is no fee.  Up to three poems may be submitted, preferably new work; older poems are acceptable. Please submit them anonymously with your name and title of the poem in a sealed envelope attached to each entry.  Submit them to: Hilary Bourne- Jones, 88 Oxendean Gardens, Lwr. Willingdon, BN22 ORS.

It is acceptable to bring your EB-J entries along to the June meeting and pass them over to Hilary personally to pass on to that year’s adjudicator

The Downland Poets meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, 6.30pm to 9.30pm.at The Hampden Park

 Bowling Club, Hampden Park, unless otherwise stated.

19th November: Theme, Emptiness or A Favourite Place.

And dates and themes for next tear’s meetings to be decided

 

27th November: Peter Wathen (editor) being interviewed re. Downland Poets 50th Anniversary and poetry in general, on Seahaven Radio, Seaford. 7pm.

 

20th December: Christmas Dinner, venue Hilary Bourne-Jones house.

Bring a poem reflecting the season or one of your own choice.
